Blevine

I have quite a few dolls that have been sorely neglected over the past few years. Blevine, my sleeping Raccoon Doll Laeticia, is one of them. She shares the body, so pair that with the fact that I haven't played with my mini's as much as I used to recently and she's at the top of the pile for neglected dollies. I decided to redress her for some new pics this morning.

Joshua, Just Because

Some just because photos of Joshua. He hadn't had some new pics in quite a while and I just felt like playing a bit with one of my guys.

I also realized I have quite a few clothing pieces that had never been on a doll. I bought this hoodie quite a few years ago from someone on Etsy.

I liked the colors, and the fact that it was different than anything the guys already had. Don't know why it took me so long to put it on a doll!

Ygritte

Some just because photos of Ygritte (MSD SJ Yvonne) as I've been looking at the new SJ offerings, the new Athletic body for the women in the MSD and contemplating what I might like to add to my group. This spurred me to get out one of my favorite SJ girls for some new photos.  I almost didn't cave on Yvonne when her sculpt was being discontinued, but I'm so glad I did.

She really does have such a pretty sculpt. She's also donning an outfit I've had for over a year, but never put on a doll. Shame on me. I know a lot of folks don't like the Aphrodite body, but I really do. I like the curves for a change. It's very different than the Iple FID and RD bodies available, and I like the variety.

Morning Walk

Lobo out for a morning walk around the grounds.

The Jude sculpt is still my favorite of SJ's men.

He reminds me quite a bit of Iple Rex, who is also a favorite.

Feeling Like Fall

I haven't been in the mood to play with my dolls much at all lately, but today I got the urge to get Lucy out and put her in some fall knits to get some photos. Lucy was the first doll I purchased in this size, and I still love her face.

She's wearing a combo mix and match fashion. Her sweater is from SJ, hat and jewelry from Iplehouse and turtleneck from Raccoon Doll.

Jeans are from an online seamstress that I can't recall the name of at present.

Maybe the cooler fall days will inspire me to get more dolls out for some photos in coming days. Fall is my favorite time of the year.

Cali Redress

Some new pics of Cali, just because she finally got out of winter clothes and dressed for spring.

This SartoriaJ dress is a tad big in the bust area, as Cali is on the slim small bust FID body. I think she still makes it work.

Winter Knits

Long time, no post. I hope to remedy that in 2024, and become more active on my blogs again.  Today was a first step. I took some time to play a bit with a couple of my Iple FID's today, for the first time in quite a while. We were talking about knits for dolls on Resin Antics, one of the Doll Forums I  hang out on, and it spurred me to get out this knit set I purchased a long time ago for my CED dolls actually, out and try it on my FID's.  Maeve (my FID Mari) was happy to model. She is wearing a custom wig I had ordered for her from Chewin that I hadn't gotten around to photographing yet.

I couldn't leave the men out of playtime. While I didn't succumb to the temptation to order a new doll from Iplehouse during their holiday sale in 2023,  I did decide to get this outfit for my FID men that I had been eyeing since it was 30% off. Declan (FID Leonard) agreed to model for me.

I imagine the coat would fit a tad more comfortably on the model body. Declan has the muscle body, but it still works. The sleeves of the turtleneck bunched up a bit, and that hindered the fit across the shoulders as well. I think it still looks great on him, and am happy with my purchase.

And one last shot of Declan, as Leonard's sculpt is one of my favorites.

By the Light of the Moon

Kieran (my SJ Jarrad) got a new wig in from Chewin, so some new photos were in order. I wish I could get Chewin's wigs for all my guys! They are wonderful works of art.

And so much more realistic looking than any other wigs you can get (especially for the men) in this size. Love the widow's peak in this one.

I also got a new background in from China and with the moon in the background, thought it was perfect for my group of "shifters".

Declan

Declan was one of my first FID sized dolls to make his way here ,and he's still a favorite. Have to admit, I really love the Leonard sculpt.

His wig is by Chewin. If I could have a Chewin wig for every single one of my guys I would. Good short hair is so hard for the dolls this sized, well for dolls in any size really, but this size is especially challenging. I love my Chewin wigs that I own.

More of Ygritte

I took some new photos of Ygritte (SJ 45Aphrodite Yvonne) this morning. So glad I caved at the last minute and added this one before she was gone. Yvonne is my favorite SJ female sculpt I think. I have her head in the larger size too and love her.

She's modeling one of the outfits I got in the Christmas sale from SJ. The tank was horrible to get on. The "stretch" was pushed to the limit trying to get it over those hips of hers. All in all though, I like the Aprhodite body more than I thought I would.

And a close up shot of her beautiful face.

First Signs of Spring

Took Joshua outside for some new pics as I haven't done much with my resin crew recently. Some spring green peeking through the bushes. I'm so ready for spring.

Thought I better get some shots of someone in the turtleneck I got in the Christmas sale at SJ before it is too warm for it. Not that the dolls care, but I dress the dolls by our seasons.

Getting to Know Ygritte

Earlier this week my SartoriaJ order from April containing two female dolls, Yvonne and Elf Juliet arrived. I had ordered Yvonne in the discontinuation sale as I really love my larger Yvonne head and I was afraid I would later regret not getting her if I missed out. I've been taking the time to play with them both, Glenna (my Elf Juliet) will get her own posting at a later date either here on on my Glade blog. I haven't quite decided where she fits into things. Ygritte, my Yvonne is definitely a member of the shifter crew though and therefore more contemporary. This shot was the first wig I tried on her right out of the box. It's an Iplehouse blended wig, but the fibers don't hang naturally, which bugs me.

I may try to boil wash the wig later to see if I can get rid of some of the fullness and the annoying curve at the ends.

I wasn't 100% happy with the Iplehouse two toned wig, so today I went digging in my wig stash and found a blonde wig I purchased from SartoriaJ a while ago and decided to try it on Ygritte. She really came alive for me in this wig. I think it's a keeper, although it was extremely hard to get to stay on. It seems to be too small. I had to do a lot of tugging to get it to stay in place. This isn't the first time I've had that happen with a SJ wig. It's a bit frustrating.

I redressed Kieron also this morning and as Ygritte was waiting to get her time in front of the camera I saw them standing together and thought Hmmmm...............wasn't what I originally planned, I originally thought about Ygritte for Lobo (my Amber Beige Jude), but I decided to photograph them together anyway to see what I thought. Definitely some dolly chemistry going on. I'll have to see how things play out.

After photographing them together though, I think my plans may have gone awry again and Lobo may still be searching for his "one".

Cozy Knits

I recently received this beautiful pale pink scarf in the mail from a friend, and thought it was a good excuse to get one of my girls out for some new pics. I chose Cali to model today.

Cali paired her new scarf with a beanie hat that I had crocheted quite a few years ago and a sweater from Dollmore.

I love knit pieces for the dolls. It adds realism to their wardrobe. I really should get my crochet hooks and knitting needles back out and do a few more things for the girls, and guys too. Of course its been so long, I'll need to watch YouTube to refresh myself on how to do both!

Appreciation of His Body's Namesake

I've been in a bit of a 1/6 doll mood over the past few months and my mini resin crew hasn't gotten much appreciation. As the year draws to a close and I need to make a decision as to whether or not I wanted to add another SJ doll to my crew, I decided to get one of the guys I have out for some new photos. Kieran (Jarrad) arrived earlier this year and I haven't done much with him yet. He is the only SartoriaJ guy I have on the Zeus body. I got inspired this morning to configure a toga-ish covering for him and get him in front of the camera. The body is truly a work of art and I like it with minimal clothing much better than I do clothed. Zeus body indeed, very aptly named.

His biceps are really quite something (as is his whole body really). A real work of art.

His facial feautres are quite strong as well, and he has a very strong nose, as you can see in his profile here.

SartoriaJ's face up artists really do a wonderful job as well, especially with the facial hair. One of the reasons I'm contemplating the new guy on offer for the holiday season by SartoriaJ (Matias) is the wonderful bearded face up they offer him with. I wasn't that drawn to him in his larger size with the non bearded face ups. I wasn't that drawn to Jarrad in his clean shaven incarnation either, but I do love this bearded face up for him.

Blevine

I have quite a few dolls that have been sorely neglected over the past few years. Blevine, my sleeping Raccoon Doll Laeticia, is one of them...
