Camera Comparisons

My DSLR camera, which I've had close to 15 years now has developed a sticking shutter button. Grrr.........I've been watching YouTube videos trying to figure out how to get it "unstuck" and I got maybe 5 shots out of it this morning before it started sticking again. So, I decided to get out the new point and shoot Canon XS720 HS camera I bought for  a  'photo" comparison.

The first shot here was taken with my Canon DSLR Rebel XS

And the shot below was taken with the point and shoot Canon XS720 HS. It only has the 3" screen in the back to compose the shots (no smaller viewfinder). I've become accustomed to using the smaller viewfinder on my DSLR camera and find it an "adjustment" to work with composing shots on the screen instead of a smaller viewfinder. I also need to figure out all the buttons but all in all I'm pretty pleased with the quality of the photos.

More Bronze

Just playing a bit more with Lucy in the bronze Iple gown. I wanted to take some pics against the new shoji screen I got to use as a back drop.

I love her in this gown........she may be stuck in it a while.

The Power of Play

I always loved Tonner's motto, believe in the power of play.  I've embraced that philosophy over the course of my doll collecting history. One of the things I love most about the BJD's is the fact they are such blank canvases, that can be so different with the change of a wig, or a pair of eyes.

I've been enjoying this guy in both my "Glade" (fantasy doll world, blog linked at sidebar) world as well as a contemporary character. The weather was so beautiful out this morning I just felt the need to take him out and photograph him.

My front bushes do well as a forest setting for the FID/Raccoon sized dolls.

One of the reasons I find myself reaching for the smaller FID/Raccoon dolls over my full sized BJD's lately................they are much easier to manage for photo shoots.

Bronzes and Browns

I got this dress from Iplehouse a while ago, and its a little tight across the bust of my Athletic/medium bust Iple girls, so thought I would try it on one of my Raccoon ladies to see how it fits on them. Lucy got elected as I have High heel feet from Iple in realskin, which matches sweet mocha perfectly, and I wanted her to wear the Iple heels with this outfit.

On an aside...........RD uses smaller S hooks in their feet and it was a PAIN in the patootie to get the heel feet on the body! UGHHH......finally accomplished it though. LOVE these shoes.  The bust fit of the gown on the RD girls is a little loose, but you can futz with it so it works.

All in all, I really like the look on Lucy. I might have to go back and get the shoes in other colors!

I really wish Iple would NOT have made the "necklace" as part of the collar on the dress. It cheapens the look to me, and makes it where it is hard to get it to lay right. Overall I'm happy with the outfit though. Love the bracelets.

Winter Knits

Long time, no post. I hope to remedy that in 2024, and become more active on my blogs again.  Today was a first step. I took some time to p...
